From the team behind King of the Hill

The Format

The Track

Duncan Mackinnon Reserve, Murrumbeena. 400m athletics track. 8 lanes. 450-seat grandstand. 15 minutes from the CBD.

No hills. No trails. No excuses. Just you, the track, and a cutoff that won't stop dropping.

  • 🏃 Loop distance - 1 mile (4 laps)
  • ⏱️ Starting cutoff - 15:00
  • 📉 Drops - 10 seconds every round

The Rules Are Simple.

Run the mile. Beat the cutoff. Do it again.

Every round, the cutoff drops by 10 seconds. If you're not back across the line in time, you're out. No second chances. The clock decides.

❌ Miss the cutoff?
❌ Can't finish the mile?
❌ Pull the pin?

Frequently Asked

No. Round 1 starts at a 9:23/km pace. That's a brisk walk. If you can jog, you can compete. The format is designed so everyone starts comfortable and the cutoff finds your limit over time. You don't need to be fast. You need to not quit.
Yes. If you can keep moving for a mile, you'll survive the early rounds. How deep you go depends on how much you're willing to push. Plenty of people will have a great experience lasting 15-20 rounds and walking away proud.
The bulk of the field will be eliminated within the first 5-6 hours as the cutoff tightens from walking pace to running pace. The final athletes will battle it out over the last couple of hours. The full event is estimated to run 7-9 hours from first round to last elimination. You're welcome to leave whenever you want after you're eliminated, or stick around and watch the finish from the grandstand.
Yes. You're welcome to bring a gazebo, chairs, an esky, whatever you need to set up a base. There's space in the middle of the athletics track near the start line for athletes to set up their gear. Make yourself comfortable between rounds.
Duncan Mackinnon Reserve in Murrumbeena. A proper 400m athletics track with an 8-lane surface, 450-seat grandstand, toilets, car park, and BBQ facilities. 15 minutes from the CBD. Easy to get to.
Yes. Free parking at the venue.

Manual timing. A siren or whistle sounds when the cutoff expires. If you haven't crossed the line, you're eliminated. No timing chips. No mats. You either beat the cutoff or you don't.
Yes. Every round, live with commentary on YouTube. Your mates and family can watch from anywhere. You'll be on camera.
You stick around. Grab a feed. Watch the carnage from the grandstand. Cheer on the athletes still out there. The experience doesn't end when your race does.
Participants must be 18 years or older.
We run. Rain, wind, whatever. The track is all-weather.
